Add asset to asset object field (customfield) via mail

Hello community,

I am using mainly Jira Software and created there an Asset-Object customfield called "Sites" where different Objects are displayed in a Drop-down list.

 

Do you know if and how it is possible to fill this field "Sites" via incoming mail?

(Currently I am using JEMH Cloud Plugin and as far as I know with this PlugIn it is not possible to fill Asset-Object fields.)

Hi @Helene Haderer ,

if it's possible, it'll certainly be quite complex. Functions to add / work with Assets would be Jira Automations and apps such as Script Runner. It might be possible through a way where JEMH parses the mail and triggers any of those functions, either via event or an action on the issue (e.g. setting a certain label).
When detecting this change, the Automation/Script could run and set the desired asset.

I'm not sure if this gives you some inspiration to look into the challenge yourself.
