Request with approval

Hi!

I am very new to Jira so I might be doing some very basic error. 

I am trying to create a workflow that needs, as first step, approval from the "managers" group.

I created the workflow, service request and custom field with a single group picker to be included in the request with a default value.

When I try if it works, the approver is never set and I need to add it manually from the service desk view.

This is my current workflow (from a template):

Could you also post the setup of your approval step and the custom field configuration?

A simple workaround that we often use is to set the correct group either through an automation rule or a post function on the workflow transition to set the correct group.

That also allows you to use the same field for other workflows/projects.
