issue template for company managed project

Hello,

I recently created a company managed project, and I am trying to add a issue layout for each of my issue types. So when I create an issue, I would like to see a template based on the selected issue type. At the moment, I find it confusing/complicated to set it up.

Can somebody please provide a step-by-step guide ?

Feel free to try our Easy Issue Templates for Jira app by AppLiger. Free for up to 10 users. It lets you set predefined field configurations like Summary and Description values for certain issue types and then restore it from saved issue templates. With Forms and Variables - users can dynamically select values while creating new issues, making the process even more efficient

If you're open to using an app like Templating.app, you can easily create custom Issue Templates and make them available for specific projects and users.

It's super easy to set up with a user-friendly UI and dropdown menus. You can:

Select a project and issue type
Predefine the summary
Predefine the description
Show/hide fields
Make fields required
And much more...

@Jordy Vervuurt hi! Here's what you can do:

1. Open your company-managed project and click Project Settings in the sidebar.

2. Under Issue types, select Issue Layouts.

3. Click Edit Layout. There, you will be able to change fields, labels, and so on.

4. Once done, click Save Changes.

Please note: to do this, you need to either have the Manage Issue Layouts Permission or be an Administrator. If that is not the case, ask your admin for the Manage Issue Layouts Permission.

Alternatively, you can try our app, Smart Templates for Jira. It allows you to save any Jira issue as a template. It can even be an epic with tasks, subtasks, and checklists - the hierarchy will be preserved. You can prefill fields, add a description template, automatically mention responsible team members, and more. It’s also possible to schedule automatic issue creation on a schedule.

This is what I see when I go to issue layout under project settings

I currently have one issue layout for this all my issue types, but I would like an issue layout for each issue layout. How can I accomplish this without installing additional apps?
