Need help in linking pages in different confluence cloud documents published using scroll viewport

Question

Hi I am a confluence cloud user. I have 2 documents and I am linking from one page in doc 1 to a page in doc 2.

Both doc's are part of scroll documents and are published using scroll viewport.

If I use confluence links then in the published documents the links don't work. If takes me to the confluence page for page in doc 2 rather than its published page.

If I use context keys then these are not updated with newer versions of the docs.

Example if I now have a v2 of doc1 and a v2 of doc 2 the context keys links need to be recreated to point to the v2 version of the page. Is this the only way to manual update confluence key links for newer versions..or is there a better way? Please help.

Yes, it's all about how you create the link. I experienced this issue when my boss jumped in to write some pages he knew more about than me.

I always inserted links by selecting the page name (and appending the anchor, if applicable), but my boss would copy the little link icon next to the Heading on the page and link to that. In my Scroll Viewport output, these links would open in Confluence, rather than the Viewport site.

If the two Scroll Documents are used as content sources of a single Viewport site, then linking between pages in those documents should work.

(I just tested it)

The secret is to use inline links - this is how you create one.

Do not copy paste the url, just use the cmd/K or ctrl/K shortcut and start typing the page name. Click it and everything will be take care of.

Viewport will reconcile the links.
