Manual Jira Automation attach to a certain issue type and in additional Status in the workflow

Question

Is it possible to attach a manual evoke Jira Automation to a certain issueype and in additional a certain Status in the workflow?

I know how to get that also by having a special issuetype, but that is creating another issuetype that I want to avoid if possible.

The other is within the Automation check if the current issue is in that Status of the workflow.  That is not as user friendly as not provide the Manual Automation link in the first place.

I was told, with in Workflow, one can add workflow automation.  But don't know if one can attach and remove Manual Automation trigger when transition in and out that Status in the workflow.

Any pointers are appreciated.  thnx

An alternative way is to extend another workflow Status from that initial Status.  Once transition to the extended Status, to do the Automation.  Then revert the extended Status back to the original Status.

Difference will be to evoke from the Actions drop down, or using transition.

...Actually, there is another difference.  From manual evoke automation your can prompt the user.  If trigger from transition you may not be able to prompt user for an input.
