How to assign issues based on Jira form fields?

Question

I'm working on a Jira form that is completely conditional (answering question 1 with answer A will open a new set of conditional questions whereas answering question 1 with B will have a different set of conditional questions)

It seems I can't have the same fields on the request type AND the Jira form, it deletes one or the other to avoid duplicates but I need custom fields on the request type in order to automatically assign to specific DRIs and obviously can't delete the fields from the form as I need them to set conditions.

Are there any ways to keep the same fields on both format? Or how can I create automation rules based on Jira form fields?

Welcome to the community.

Unfortunate you can use the same Jira fields in a form.

The best solution I can give is to create 3 custom fields.

Use 2 fields in the form and add an automation to copy the value from one of thoses fields if provided to the 3rd one that is visible on the issue

As far as I know, Jira automation only looks at Issue fields and not form fields.
