Jira Assets, default groups for a role

In Assets are you able to control which groups show up in a given role, by default, for a new schema?

When I create a new schema almost all ( could be all,  all are not visible in the text box and I just delete everything)  the groups available show up in the developer role.  Haven't found a place where that can be altered or controlled so don't know why it happens that way

I don't think so. Each time I create a new schema in the past, I added groups to the role afterwards. However, it would be nice to apply same group by default for specific roles.
