I need to create a Number custom field (Integer)

Question

I've been tasked with creating a custom field that stores integer values in Jira Software (cloud). However, I've been explicitly asked not to use the "Text" field type, as it could cause issues when the team generates reports, uses dashboards, or groups values.

Is there a way to achieve this effectively?

this Number field is not for integer only, it is for decimals
