Issue with Jira Integration in Jenkins Freestyle Projects

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with the official Jira integration plugin for Jenkins.

I’ve successfully connected Jenkins to Jira, but I’m using a freestyle project for my builds in Jenkins.

I’ve added a post-build action with a blank branch (since branches are dynamically changing).

My question is: Is it possible to define the environment (e.g., production or staging) when using a freestyle project?

Also, I keep getting this warning every time I run a job:

[ATLASSIAN CLOUD PLUGIN] [WARN] Not a WorkflowRun, automatic builds and deployments won't work.

Welcome to the community.

Unfortunately freestyle projects are not supported by Jenkins for Jira (Official). Its integration is limited to pipeline jobs.

However the original Jenkins Integration for Jira app does support freestyle jobs and all other types of Jenkins jobs.

Using the original integration, also allows you to integrate Compass and Confluence in cade you are interested.
