[solved] How to set status field back to context field area

I have just a little question.

The Status field in our tickets moved from right side (context fields) ...

... to the left side (description fields).

We want the status field on the right side again.

In Field-configuration the Status-Field-Element is not movable for us.

Any Ideas?

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share an update regarding the status field position issue I raised earlier.

The Jira Support team has resolved the matter by restoring the status field to its original location within the Context Fields.

It turns out that this change was part of an experimental rollout by the Jira development team. These experiments are test features that are gradually rolled out to specific Jira customers rather than being applied to all users at once.

I hope this helps anyone else facing the same problem or wonderings!

When did you start to see this? Is this happening to all browsers that you are using? From which screen you are viewing the issue (board, issues section?)?

It happened suddenly in the middle of the day. All employees on 15 computers with different browsers are affected. It appears in the ticket view when I open a ticket. For example, through a link like this: company.atlassian.net/browse/PROKEY-19

The only thing I can say is that our Jira is still working as usual.
So if it's not a delayed productive rollout, maybe are you part of experimental testing?

Happened to me and my workspace on one project (we have multiple projects, haven't seen it on them yet, but checked a few and they were working correctly).

How can I revert this and put it back to the right side?

Happened to my project today. Status got moved to Description Section from Context and I do not have permissions to move it back.

Facing the same issue. One problem with the change is that now the status item will scroll off the screen instead of constantly being available in the rhs panel. I'm a definite "thumbs down" on this change.

hi @Christoph Splett same problem here, status field moved to description which is much less convenient because it's not always visible on screen as it is in the context fields, also this is not configurable in jira project issue layout settings ((
Is this planned to leave as is in long term or it's still experimental deployment?
