How can I add custom field of a team-managed project to the card layout of a board?

Hi,

I have created a board using a filter (includes the team-managed project and some specific users). I have a custom field 'SW Dev stage' in the team-managed project.

I want to add this custom field to the card layout of the board, In the Board Settings > Card Layout, it shows that I can add up to 3 fields. However, I cannot see the custom field 'SW Dev stage' in the dropdown options.

Is there something I am missing?

To add a custom field from a team-managed project to the card layout of a board, ensure the custom field is correctly configured in the project settings.

Team-managed project fields are unique to the project and may not appear in boards created from filters that span multiple projects.

If the custom field still doesn’t appear, confirm its visibility and try re-adding it under Board Settings > Card Layout.

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Based on my experimentation the boards created from filters can add only Globally defined custom fields. The custom fields created locally within Team Managed projects don't appear to be available for adding to the card layout.

I tested that by creating a filter that selected issues from just one team managed project, and creating a board from that filter. When I looked at the Card Layout and searched for custom fields specific to the team managed project, none of them were available.
