New issues not appearing in backlog

Hi. I have a scrum board. I have mapped all statuses to relevant columns. The status "backlog" is not mapped to any column because If i add a column for backlog and map the status of "backlog" with this column then this column starts showing in my active sprint board as well, which i do not want. As a result, the new issues that are created are not visible on backlog. I checked the filter query is very simple 

 

project = TESTPROJ ORDER BY created DESC

If I map the "backlog" status with backlog column then I start seeing new issues in my backlog but the side effect is that "backlog" column also starts showing in my active sprint page. Thoughts?

On a single board, it is not feasible to hide the backlog for sprint and show it on backlog without mapping the column.

If you want to avoid showing the backlog column in your active sprint view, consider using quick filters, a separate backlog board, or tweaking your board filter to exclude the "Backlog" status. Each of these approaches will help you keep your backlog and active sprint board separated without unwanted side effects.
