The page previously called 'Issues' now seems to be called 'List' and the saved searches associated with the Issues pages seem to have disappeared entirely? Where will I find the previously saved searches for Issues?

There is still the option issues in the side bar, where predefined and starred filters are listed.

Issues and List are 2 different views with similar functionality, but they are not the same:
If all is well, both views should be available in your project.

Thank you for the reply. We seem to have lost Issues which has caused the confusion!
Thank you - I have re-discovered a path to Issues via the top Filters menu, but the item in the sidebar just disappeared overnight!
Work Items will be the new title based on the new naming from Atlassian.
You instance seems to be one of the 1st to have this.
Any word with "issue: in the will be replaced with "work"
