Create database fields from CSV?

Hello,

I am dipping my toe into Confluence databases and have a question. Is there a way to import the field definitions for a database? I am starting with the import of a CSV file that has about 30 columns and creating each field by hand is tedious.

If this is not possible, then I propose it as a new feature.

Hi @John Felleman welcome to the community!  I found this article from Atlassian regarding importing data from a CSV file.

Looks to me like you can then match up your structures and finish the import.

Match with your database structure

When using the Import option, the import entries dialog will open after the data is uploaded. This dialog allows you to match the imported content with your database structure:

1. Unselect the checkboxes to exclude specific rows from the import.

2. To match columns to existing database fields, select the appropriate field in the column header. Each field can only be selected once.

3. Select the Ignore option in the column header to exclude certain columns from the import.

4. Type a new field name into the column header to create new text fields for unmatched columns.

Once all columns are either matched or ignored, select Apply to upload the changes as new entries into your database.
