Exporting a database page without expanding links

I'm trying to export a database page in which there are smart links. However, instead of the smart links being maintained with the full URL remaining hidden the full URL is always displayed in the export. 

Has anyone solved this problem? The full URL is not easy to read in the export so I only want the smartlink to be displayed in the export (PDF ideally but HTML would be fine).

Hi @Ricky Dolphin and welcome to the Community.

To me, it looks like a bug - page links are exported normally, as hyperlinked text, and I don't see why smart links would be treated differently at the export stage.
