Automatically create a JIRA ticket when text is entered into slack channel

Hi,

 

I'm currently looking for a way to do the following:

- Grab text from each message entered into a chat (e.g. #requests)

- Store the text and send it to JIRA which would create a new ticket automatically

 

I've seen other posts mentioning to use zapier, but that was back in 2018. Is there a newer alternative to this?

Hi @Jeff Ponce -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

I believe the default connector allows quickly creating an issue like this:

/jira create your issue summary

That will open a dialog for additional fields / changes, or it could be immediately submitted.  Will that one meet your needs?

If not, have you searched the Slack apps to see if there is one that will do so?
