JQL Not Showing Issues with Parent in VSCode

Hey There!

I'm working with a user who is encountering an issue with the following query in VSCode:

issue = PROJ-2545 ORDER BY created DESC

When this user runs the query, no results are returned, even though the issue is assigned to them and is currently in progress.

Interestingly, when a different user runs the same query in VSCode, the expected result appears—the issue is returned as expected.

After investigating further, it seems that any issue with a parent (such as a subtask) doesn't show up when queried in VSCode. I've seen others in the community mention similar problems, but there hasn't been any solid advice so far.

I'm reaching out to see if anyone in this community has experienced this and can offer insights or solutions. Any help in solving this puzzling issue would be greatly appreciated! 😅

Please can you explain what you mean by doing a query in VScode?

In Jira, you can be assigned to an issue if you have the assignable user permission but this doesn't necessarily mean you have the browse project permission, which you would need to be able to see the results of the query in JQL.

Please can you clarify what the user permission configuration is?
