What is the impact of updating a custom field dropdown to use a new value?

We need to update a custom field's dropdown options with new values, replacing some existing ones. To support our business use case, we will be editing them in place, not disabling and adding new values.

It sounds like any issues referencing the old value will automatically reflect the new value, but what happens with:

• Reports referencing the old value
• Automations referencing the old value for triggers and conditions

Correct, issues will get the new value automatically, but for reports and automations you will have to manually update those. Issues are using the internal number for the value, but reports and automations are using the display name.
