How to report total time spend from linked issues-Combining Jira Service Management and Jira Server

Hello everyone,

I would like to generate a report on the time spent on tasks in a specific project, including linked tasks. In our organization, we use both Jira Service Management (Cloud) and Jira Server (on-premise), and some tasks in JSM are linked to tasks in Jira Server. How can I generate a report that captures the total time spent on a given task, including linked tasks, with a breakdown by individual users over a specified period?

Unfortunately, I don't think there is an out-of-the-box solution or a one-size-fits-all app that can generate the comprehensive report you're seeking. The best approach is to develop a custom script or standalone program that utilizes the Jira REST API to extract and consolidate data from both your JSM (Cloud) and Jira Server (on-premise) instances.

Using the Jira REST API, you can access the necessary data from both Jira instances, including tasks, linked tasks, and work logs. Then you can merge the data from both sources, either within your script or in an external tool like Excel.
