Alternative for Jira Roadmap Dashboard Plugin

André Matzke_h813za

since the Jira Roadmap Gadget is obviously deprecated and will be removed from Jira in December, what alternative one can use ?

Advanced Roadmap feature is completely confusing, way too many information for such a feature (is the goal lost for jira to be a tool for a well organised projectmanager?) and does not seem to be based on the release feature ? How can this be a substitute ?

Michael Yaroshefsky - Visor for Jira

Hi @André Matzke

Our app (Visor) is widely used to create Jira roadmaps (including portfolio level roadmaps incorporating multiple projects).

You can add milestones, custom conditional formatting, you can share your roadmaps with anyone, AND it has a connected dashboard view that you can add custom charts for project metrics, issues in a certain stage by assignee etc.

Visor is very easy to use, has a two-way integration with Jira, and it's free. So recommend you give it a try - it sounds like the right tool for you

@André Matzke Have you tried this?

I also wanted to know the best alternative to a roadmap for viewing all upcoming releases in one place.

Please share your feedback.

Thank you.

Hi @André Matzke ,

If you would be interested to try out a mktplace app for this requirement, do take a look at

Issue Hierarchy

The app can be easily added as a dashboard gadget too, with clear timeline view. Below are the main features of the app.

- Sum up values to see overall progress for your Issue Hierarchy

- View the full hierarchy of linked issues (upto 10 levels), Portfolio/Advanced Roadmaps, Epics, and Subtasks

- Apply filters to put the focus on the relevant data only

- Excel like editing for all the values right on the report and see real time progress updates

- Export to a CSV file

- Embedded Epic Hierarchy on Issue Screen

- Dashboard Gadgets

- Gantt View

- Dark Theme Support

(Disclaimer: I work for RVS, the vendor for this app)

Hey @Nandhini M just an FYI you can visualize multiple releases/projects on a single roadmap (or a range of other visualizations like timelines, boards, and dashboards), using our app Visor:

Hope you can give Visor a try! It has a two-way integration with Jira so it keeps all your data in sync and up to date.

Alexey Pavlenko _App Developer_

Hi @André Matzke ,

The gadget won't be removed according to the new statement. However, if you would like to keep getting updates to the Heat Map, Projects, Roadmap, Labels gadgets - you can install the app I developed which contains all these gadgets in one app. The UX is the same. The UI is updated.

Additional features to the standard behaviour:

Heatmap now has several font-sizes for tokens/elements. Simply put, this bug is fixed.
Roadmap now can display all the releases, even those which don't have release dates or versions.
Labels now can display data for any number of projects, not just for one.

Best regards,
Alexey

Hello @André Matzke,

I am Marlene, product manager of Quick Filters for Jira Dashboards.

We recently released the Advanced Edition of our app which provides a Quick Road Map gadget. On top of the standard features, this gadget can be dynamically filtered using a Quick Controller.

You can check it out without installation on our demo dashboards.

Welcome!
