Problem:
I'm trying to automatically assign people as Request Participants in Jira Service Management when an issue is created via a LogicMonitor integration. The problem is that I only have their email addresses, and Jira requires account IDs to add participants.
Method:
To work around this:
- I add the email addresses to a custom label field, since I can't directly use the emails to add participants.
- Then, I want to create an automation that does the following:
- For each email address in the custom label field:
- Make an API call to fetch the corresponding Jira account ID.
- Add the fetched account ID to the Request Participants field.
I'm looking for help with creating this automation or any advice on a better approach to achieve this.
