Single line text field now makes email address into a url

Hi community,

I've just noticed in our onboarding project our "user email" custom field, which is of the "single line text" type now adds "//" at the front of the email address, making it a link to the domain.

Previously I would be able to right click the email address and select "copy email address" (in Chrome) but now since it behaves as an URL instead it doesn't work:

Is this a change Atlassian enforced, or is there anything I can do to amend this behaviour?

It would appear changing the renderer would also not help:

We also have a custom field for email. So I wanted to see how it acts in our environment,

Our field is 1:1 the same as yours, and we also use the "default text renderer" for it, but we do not have the same issue as you.
Emails submitted are displayed and copied as emails, this makes me suspect that it is not a change in Jira.

We have the same issue. We have a "Reporter Email" custom field that is set up as type "Text Field (single line)" and automation edits that field with {{reporter.emailAddress}}. This worked fine until a few days ago, when it suddenly started filling the field with a "//" in front of the email address instead of just simply the email address. Previously, we could click the email address within the ticket to generate an email to the user from Outlook, but now that no longer works since the slashes have been added.

This is most definitely a change on Atlassian's end as we have not edited that field or the automation in months, and the change just started a few days ago.

Interesting. We don't use automation for it, so It might be the {{reporter.emailAddress}}

I copied the email address from the field, pasted it into notepad, and then copied+pasted from there and it still behaved the same for me (adding the "//" in front)
