We tried to add a project description for one of the created projects, we did not find the option to add the description where everybody can view the project description in the details tab.
Could you please help us with this.
Hi @Renuka Paladugu ,
Currently, the description for the JWM projects is unavailable. It's available for Software projects or Service projects.
Hi @Renuka Paladugu welcome to the Atlassian Community!
That's a very good question. I just checked again but haven't found the location where the Project description is displayed. Even for admins I can only find it when actually going to the Project settings > Details of a specific project.
It's not listed in Projects > View all projects (for users), not in Settings > Jira Settings > Projects (for admins)
Hi @Manoj Kumar Gangwar
Then why is it not displayed in the project list? Where can you find it for software of service projects if you're not an admin?
Hi @Dave Mathijs, It is not showing under project lists but the project description field is visible only to the project admins for Software & Service projects but not for JWM.
Project settings > Details of a specific project.
with respect, this should really be visible. scenario. i want to create a project and also a project description (for any given type project). When i plan time or submit actual time at some point in the future Management would like to run a report that shows a project name but also a project description (what it is at a high level details and how it benefits us or the client, what value it brings to the organization) along with time allocated vs time charged. executives can't remember what each project is or the details of what each is. Project names can often sound similar and are by necessity usually brief in nature. This addition of a description would help tremendously in making reporting much more user friendly by adding context to Management level reporting.
