Automation: Once a Checklist item is marked as 'Done', send slack notification

kristina_soriano

I would like to create an automation where once I marked the checklist item(Solution Design) to 'Done', it will send a Slack notification. I'm using 'Checklist for Jira - Free' plugin. There's something wrong on my conditions(Compare field values), please enlighten me or suggest a way to possibly implement this automation. Appreciate your help. Thanks

Hi @kristina_soriano

Look at the automation example on checking a specific checklist item from the vendor documentation, this condition should help you.

See; transition-issue-when-a-given-item-is-complete

Combine this with the example on slack message; send-slack-message-with-checklist-progress

Hello @kristina_soriano ,

I am Adaeze, and I am working with the team behind Checklist for Jira | Free.

The condition will have to check the "field change to" instead of "change from", as below:

Depending on if you use status or checkbox, the value field should be [Done] Solution Design

Let me know if you require further help; please reach out to us here.

Hi @Adaeze_Jude_HEROCODERS

Thanks, I tried updating the rule, however, it still won't perform the action coz it doesn't match the condition based on audit log. I might be missing something. Please help. Thanks

Can you show a screenshot of an issue with the checklist.

Hi @kristina_soriano

Can you open a ticket with us here? I would like to review this on a call.

Also, since you are using the Checklist Text field, you need to enable the "save local items to Jira custom field" to allow the Checklist to sync with it. To enable this, navigate to Jira settings> Apps> Checklist for Jira> Global settings.

Hi @Adaeze_Jude_HEROCODERS

Yes, the "save local items to Jira custom field" setting is enabled.

I have raised a ticket HELP-9040
