Not all selections for single select custom field appear in dropdown when editing field in a tkt

Question

Not all selections for a single select custom field appear in the dropdown when editing the field in a JIRA ticket.

There are 250 selections/options for this field, but only 100 selections appear in the dropdown when editing the field. If I start typing the name of one of the selections (i.e. selection 101-250) it will appear and can be selected. But that's only because I know what those are. For someone not familiar with all 250 selections, they'll think that only the first 100 are available.

How can I get all 250 selections to display in the dropdown?

Or use regions, as your parent list.

The list is containing countries?  So why not organise the cascading field by continent (parent list) and then country (child list)? Will we get under 100 per child list I wonder

also using the field description to inform the user to start typing might be an help

I checked into cascading. It will not work for this case, since I don't have fields depending on other fields.

Another option is to create 3 "Country" fields: Country (A-G), Country (H-R) and Country (S-Z). This will direct the user to the correct list, based on what the country name begins with. This will also ensure that all selections are displayed (i.e., less than 100).

I'll then need to add a rule that only one of the 3 fields can be selected. I'll have to figure out how to do that. Any suggestions?
