Issue Scoring

Question

Hi,

We need help prioritizing our defects. Is there a feature to "score" issues?  For example: compliance (1-10), customers impacted (1-10), financial impact (1-10) and then they would be totaled and we could sort by the highest? (it doesn't have to be 1-10 but i'm using that for an example)

(we do this in Aha for enhancement requests) but we keep our bugs in Jira so wanting to find a way to score and sort these in Jira.

One such app would be ScriptRunner for Jira Cloud (disclaimer: my employer)

And another approach would be creating a Forge app to calculate the value.

Having built a few of these customizations over the years I would caution that they may not be as useful as one might wish. You can find the outliers in a set of issues by sorting on the different fields, and any result will need a human decision anyway. It's really hard to come up with a set of attributes and formula that makes it easy to decide what to work on next

You could calculate such a "score" using marketplace apps for calculated fields or with built-in features by creating Atlassian Automation rules.
