"User Mentioned" trigger in confluence automation

Question

Dear community,

I am attempting to set up a confluence automation using the "When a user is mentioned" trigger:

Unfortunately, it seems that the trigger is never actually triggered by a comment or a mention in the page body. Am I misunderstanding something here, or is the trigger just not working correctly at the moment?

I tested this as well and can confirm the same behaviour: the User mentioned trigger did not run when I mentioned myself, but it triggered immediately when I mentioned another user.

Atlassian's documentation says the trigger runs when a user or group is mentioned on a page, blog post, or comment, but it does not mention self-mentions as an exception.

So for anyone testing this automation, make sure you mention a different user or ask someone else to mention you 💙

If you are testing it by tagging yourself that might be the problem. Either have someone tag you or you tag someone else to try it out.

The trigger does work, however, it only works for other users. (If you mention yourself, the trigger doesn't seem to go off).
Can you confirm the same findings?

I could not immediately find an open bug or feature request for the behavior. 
You can create an Atlassian support request to ask and investigate the behaviour, as this does not seem intended.
