The '+ Create issue' link in the backlog fails to pickup Issue Templates

Question

We are running company-managed Jira projects in Jira Cloud.  Issue Templates are working beautifully via Project Settings > Apps > Issue Templates.

However when anyone uses the '+ Create issue' link from the backlog the issue is created without the template.  How can we eliminate this issue? Is there a different way to create the template so this button respects the template, or can we hide this mis behaving '+ Create issue' link

Thank you for your advice. I am a bit confused, which add-on are you talking about? I assume the templates add-on?

If so, the add-on is doing exactly what I expect. Its the The '+ Create issue' link that's the issue. I am not sure that this is an add-on.

My preference would be to remove the The '+ Create issue' link entirely. Is this possible?
