confluence cloud import from confluence server backup

Question

Hi!

I have two instances of Confluence, one of them is a Confluence Server version 3.5.4, and the other is Confluence Cloud. My Confluence Server machine has stopped working and I cannot start that Confluence instance, so I would like to restore an automatic backup of Confluence Server in my Conference Cloud.

The problem: it seems that backups from early versions than 5.3 cannot be restored in Confluence Cloud. Am I right? If so, please tell me what can I do to solve this problem, Thank you so much!!

Hey Luis,

Also make sure to go to bridge version 5.0.3 before going to 5.3, going to that bridge version is mandatory for customers that are on Confluence 3 series, as you can see in this page.

Correct, the version of your data is too old to be imported.

You will need to take the backup of Confluence 3.5.4, import it into a working confluence and then upgrade it to 5.3 (a temporary dev/test system will do this fine).  Then you'll be able to export it and get it imported into the Cloud.
