Automation triggered by a status change of a linked issue

Hey All,

I'm trying to find a solution (automation perhaps) for the following scenario:

We have a Project 'A', which is a global project, tickets are linked here from all of the other projects, let's call them, 'B', 'C', 'D'.

What I'd like to do:

* IF there is ticket in Project 'A' that's been BLOCKED BY a ticket from project 'B' or 'C' or 'D' 
* AND that blocking ticket in project 'B' or 'C' or 'D' is transitioned to CLOSED status
* THEN automatically change the status of the linked ticket in Project' A' from BLOCKED to READY FOR WORK

Do you have any suggestion how can I achieve this?

Hi @D_B ,

You can use the global automations and set the scope to 'multiple projects'. Then select projects "A", "B", "C" and "D".

@Bryce Lord thank you for your answer. But should I create this in projects "B", "C" and "D" separately? Or can I have a solution from the global rules?

Hi @D_B ,

I took a quick swing at an automation rule that may help you with this scenario. The key with this would be that they are using the issue link "blocks/is blocked by" to denote the issues in project "B", "C", or "D" that are blocking the issue in project "A".

It may also be beneficial to add additional conditions to specify the given projects, to make sure the automation only runs with the correct relationship between project "A" and projects "B", "C" and "D".
