As of today epics do not show up in the Epic filter in Backlog. See attached screen shot. This has been working fine until today.

Suggestion: Try toggling that switch.

I tried toggling that switch and just got the panel on the left hand side to create a new Epic.
I refreshed my Jira session and now they show up regardless if the toggle is on or off. Seems back to normal. Thanks
