Atlassian Automation does not show Github organization

Question

I'm trying to set up a rule to create a branch when an issue transitions to "In Progress", but it doesn't display my Github organization to connect to. I've already granted Atlassian Automation permission in Github. I've set up the Jira app in Github as well, which seems unrelated to this, but all of that is working. Any ideas why automation can't read my Github organizations?

It all looks good. Revoked and tried to connect again. Same thing. No organizations to select.

Hi John,

Usually, this happens when Automation doesn't have access to the Github organization.

Can you please check if Atlassian automation is approved under OAuth application policy under GitHub organization settings?

User Settings > Applications > Authorise Oauth Applications > Atlassian Automation

Additionally, you can check if Github is authorized from Jira side:

* Go to https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/apps  
* In that scroll down to the "Atlassian third party account access" section.
* In that, you will see Github with your username beneath it.
* Only revoke that app access, then try to create the automation rule and connect again.
