Time Tracker reports

Mircea Craciun_bv6t97

Hello, we are using the time tracker support that comes by default with Jira (free plan) and I was searching for a way to get some reports on the logged time but failed to find any. I also tried Worklogs Reports, free, but it's not reporting anything although there is logged time.
Can someone please assist on how to get logged time reports please, either natively or via add-ons that actually support the native time tracker?

Thank you,

Hi @Mircea Craciun

Welcome to the community!

I can recommend our Clockwork Automated Time Tracking & Timesheets Pro or Free app, which offers you the possibility to review timesheets and create reports that can be configured in various ways using break-down and filtering options, including time spent per agent. Our app supports the native Jira worklogs; it actually enhances the whole system.

Using timesheets, you can create a report and filter it based on several options including labels, or other fields. You can choose a range for a whole year and break down the data by chosen fields. This information can be also exported to Excel files.

We have recently also developed a Team feature that allows you to create Teams which can be used in timesheet filters and breakdowns. When a team is selected for a timesheet/report, all users in the team will be included in the report even if they do not have any worklogs for the selected timeframe.

Please find below the sample of how the timesheet looks like:

Hi @Mircea Craciun

If you would be interested in a mktplace app to get this data, you can try the add-on we have developed. You can easily view time entries for multiple issues day wise grouped by assignees in a single view.

Worklogs Time Tracking & Timesheets

The app allows to filter/Categorize/Group By your worklogs data and a timesheet view too to track individual time spent.

Disclaimer : I work for the vendor who built this app

That is the one I mentioned I tried. We had time tracking already enabled and time logged on some tickets. I installed that add-on and went to apps to both TimeSheets and Worklog reports but they are empty

To get detailed reports on logged time in Jira, especially if you're using the free plan, your options are somewhat limited natively, but there are several add-ons that can help. Here's a step-by-step guide and some recommendations:

Natively in Jira

Using Filters and Gadgets:
- Create a filter for the issues you want to report on.
- Use the Time Spent field to see logged time.
- Use gadgets like Issue Statistics or Time Tracking Report on your Jira Dashboard to visualize the data.
Export to Excel:
- Export your issues to Excel and use the Time Spent field to manually create reports.

Using Add-ons

Since native reporting on the free plan is limited, add-ons are a great way to enhance your reporting capabilities. Here are a few recommendations:

Planyway for Jira:
- Overview: Planyway is a powerful calendar, timeline and time tracking tool for Jira. It integrates deeply with Jira and allows you to visualize, track, and manage your team’s work.
- Features:
  - Time Tracking: Easily log time and view reports.
  - Custom Reports: Generate reports based on logged time, project progress, and resource utilization.
Tempo Timesheets:
- Overview: Tempo Timesheets is a comprehensive time tracking and reporting tool for Jira.
- Features:
  - Timesheet Approvals: Manage and approve timesheets.
  - Custom Reports: Create detailed reports on logged time.
Worklogs - Time Tracking and Reports:
- Overview: Worklogs is another tool specifically designed to enhance time tracking and reporting in Jira.
- Features:
  - Custom Reports: Generate various reports on logged time.
  - Detailed Views: See breakdowns by user, project, and issue.
  - Export: Easily export reports for further analysis.

Hi @Mircea Craciun

I can suggest you Timeline Team Timesheets in ActivityTimeline plugin. Detailed timesheet reports are built like Lego, so you can choose various values and generate timesheet reports in a few clicks!

Here are three types of timesheet reports in the app:

1. Progress Timesheets showing the amount of logged and required work hours. It also includes non-working days and a progress bar. You can choose different timeframes and receive an understanding of the work done by users:

2. Timeline Team Timesheets are more comprehensive, as they allow to choose between different templates. Users can get a summary report, or group data by issues, project, epic and even custom fields.

3. Detailed Team Timesheets help to get more deep data on task, project, user, or epic. You can also expand this detailed report by adding custom fields from your Jira:

ActivityTimeline also offers a separate Report Module including more than 20 resource, project, team, and other reports.

Feel free to schedule free demo session or contact our support for more info:)

Hello @Mircea Craciun

If you use Jira's native time tracking to log time, our Worklogs - Time Tracking and Time Reports will be a perfect fit for you. It works out of the box, so all you have to do is install the app and it will display a time report like this.

You can then customize it based on your needs - change groupings, dates, filters, and many other options. Feel free to check it out - there's a 30-day free trial or book a demo with our team and we will be happy to show you the app in action and answer any of your questions.

Best regards,
Sebastian

While Jira's built-in time tracking feature is helpful for logging work hours, its reporting capabilities are limited, especially on the free plan. If you're looking for more comprehensive and insightful time reports, you might consider trying the Time & Cost Tracker for Jira add-on.

This add-on seamlessly integrates with Jira's native time tracker, meaning any worklogs you've already entered will be automatically included in its reports. It offers detailed Time Reports that give you insights into:

Time spent on specific issues or projects: Filter reports by project, user, time frame, and more to get granular data.
Team's workload: See who's working on what and for how long, helping you identify potential bottlenecks or underutilized resources.
Planned vs. actual time: Compare your initial time estimates with the actual time spent, allowing you to track project progress and identify areas for improvement.

Time & Cost Tracker makes it easy to generate these reports with just a few clicks, and you can even export them for further analysis or sharing with stakeholders. It is also free for up to 10 users.

The Analytics & Reports add-on by Screenful can provide detailed reporting of data in Jira's native time tracking. You can learn more from this blog post. It's free for up to 10 users!
