How can I prevent users from deleting issue links?

Hi guys,

I need to prevent the user from removing the link from an issue but I haven't found anything natively that restricts the action.

Is there any way to do this through the scrip runner or even, an action mode to link again automatically after removal?

I cannot suggest an answer, but to allow users to break complex ticket relationships with the simple click of an X is horrific, to say the least. I was sent here as a potential solution to my request for this feature only to see that there is no solution.

I have seen blurbs about triggers that would notify admins (or something to that effect) so link relationships can be restored, but any movement of a ticket when the links are broken gets the complex relationships out of sync.

This is a serious oversight and should be addressed, but I understand that renaming "Issue Type" to "Work item" is a high priority at Atlassian {sarcasm} and breaking automations with that change was more important {eyeroll}.

Sorry for my cynicism, but this tool is getting weaker with every improvement and my client, being a small business, is approaching a place of regret we went down this path for his solution. :(

Not even Scriptrunner can do this - there is no way to hook into the delete link process, either on the back-end or by amending the UI (with behaviours)

You could get close on a Server/DC install with Scriptrunner - "UI fragments" could be used to remove the delete option from the menu (but you could still do it via REST or other ways of editing the issue)
