Why two different boards share the same sprint?

Question

When I change the name and date of one of the project's sprint the other project's sprint name is also being changed. How can I stop this?

We have several boards for different departments, currently I change the Sprint name on Tech board and everything is changing on Marketing board as well.

Welcome to our Community.

Sprint is jira product wide, not project or board wide. So if an issue is in the sprints of multiple boards, then we wil see those sprints in each of those boards.

It's likely the same Sprint, rather than two different Sprints.

Are there issues within the Sprint which are visible on both Boards / part of both Filters?

Sprints aren't board-specific - they'll show up on every Board where at least one issue (which is in the Sprint) is present.
