Custom Field - Single Choice Options

I was wondering if it is possible to link the options available on a single choice list to work off a filter. In other words, the selection of the dropdown is the result of the filter and auto updates the list when an item in the filtered results is added or removed.

The short answer is no, the default select fields cannot be based on filters. You would need an app that can get the values from an external data source like Elements Connect or any of the other apps in the Marketplace that can do this.

If you are using Forms you could connect a select field to a data connection, as long as that connection returns the result in JSON format.
