I can't see issues in my backlog because of a filter

I'm doing a JIRA coursera course and I'm creating filters.

I'm adding items to my backlog but they aren't visible because of the filter. I also can't delete the filter or figure out how to disassociate the filter from the board to see the issues in my backlog. It's saying my backlog is empty.

The only person on my dummy project is me. I'm going around in circles. Please can you help? Thanks.

Which project template are you using? Scrum or Kanban? By default, if it is for Scrum, all of the issues that you create go directly to the backlog until you start the sprint. Also, are you using company or team managed project? For company managed, you would click on three dots and go for the configure board. From there when you scroll down, you should see the Filter Query section. Your board is based on the filter. To change it, first you need to save your filter. When you save your filter, in your board configuration you would look Saved Filter option where you have the Edit Filter Query option.

Hi no it's Kanban. I'm very new to JIRA and finding it quite confusing. Screeshot of the filter below. How do I keep this filter but still see the tasks in my board and all my other tasks.

Hi Helen. Delete the statusCategory with "and".

to resolve this, try adjusting or removing the filter associated with your board. You should be able to manage filters in your board settings. If you're having trouble figuring it out, don't hesitate to reach out to JIRA support or consult the course materials for guidance

You'll have to go to basics for me.

I go into Edit Filter Query. What do I type in so I can see all the issues in both board and backlog, and remove this filter? Or how do I disassociate the filter from the board completely so that all my issues reappear before I'd added the filter to it? I can't see any way of doing this at all.
