Is there a way to change the value of a custom field based on other custom field value

Question

Trying to find a way to change the value of a field when a value is chosen on another custom field from a large number of values,

I am not familiar with JSM but I know in Jira software we can do it with scriptrunner but is there a way we can do it without hard coding all the custom field options in script.

I read about dynamic forms in JSM but I do not know if it satisfies our requirements.

we have a numerous values that we need to match.

Any help would be appreciated.

To expand on the question I have a field called customer and I have a field called customer base.

If I choose customer as London.

Customer base should change to United kingdom

If I choose customer as Sydney

Customer base should change to Australia.

....

etc.,

I know I can acheive this using scripting fields or behaviours in scriptrunner, but I dont want to hardcode all the customers and customer bases in the script itself, is there any other way to do this other than asset management, we have scriptrunner.

Thanks Walter, Although I can achieve this using asset management feature I want to explore other options because my requirement is technically not at all related to this feature.

Hi @Rahul Krishna Vangara,

If you talk about JSM and large numbers of options in fields, I would suggest looking into the premium plan and assets. There is a learning curve before you'll be up and running, but the possibilities are quite extensive.

A good starting point would be this asset and configuration management guide.
