Seeking Information on Asset Discovery Agents for Mac and Linux in Jira Service Management

Claudio Bastos

Hello everyone, this is my first post here.

We are evaluating Jira Service Management (JSM) for asset management to replace our existing solution.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but as I understand it, JSM provides an asset discovery service to detect devices on the network. There is also a Windows agent that reports the device on which the agent is running to the asset discovery service.

My question concerns Mac and Linux agents. Is there an equivalent agent that runs on these platforms? If not, is there a workaround? I'm wondering if JSM provides an API to report a new asset or something similar.

Thank you in advance!
