Trying to filter child epics/issues by custom field - need some JQL help please

Hi,

I have created a new tier - Initiatives - and we have set a custom field across all Initiatives/Epics/Issues as "Target Quarter", i.e., Q124. We are using the Hierarchy for Jira plugin to help us set up this Initiative/Epic relationship.

I can filter on Target Quarter, using the following:

issuetype=Initiative AND "Target Quarter[Select List (multiple choices)]"=Q124

However, this will also return child epics/issues that can have their Target Quarter set to Q224. It keeps the hierarchy but doesn't carry down the filter condition of Target Quarter.

Is it possible to have the filter requirement of "Target Quarter = Q124" applied at all levels of the hierarchy in the returned results?

This is a company managed project. It does seem odd that the filter doesn't work on each hierarchy level. I'll raise it with the Jira for Hierachy team and see if they can shine some light on this - maybe it it plugin specific. Thanks for helping though - if only to let me know I haven't missed something obvious! :)

Seems like I remember there was a bug for Team-managed projects with a query like this. Is this a Team-managed project?
