Default board filter

I would like to use the app xray but don't want to have all of the related issues (like tests) on the kanban board. I know how to exclude them by a quick filter. But then every team member needs to select this filter when opening the board. Is there a more convenient way to handle this? Despite setting a browser bookmark to the filtered board.

In Jira Software, if you want to apply a filter to a Kanban board by default without requiring each team member to set the filter manually, you can set up a board filter and configure the board to use that filter. Here are the steps:

 

Create a Board Filter:

 

Go to your Jira dashboard.

Click on "Boards" in the top navigation bar and select your Kanban board.

In the board menu on the left, click on "Board settings."

Navigate to the "General" tab.

In the "Filter" section, click on the "Edit filter query" link.

Define the Filter Query:

 

Create a JQL (Jira Query Language) query that filters out the issues you don't want to include on the board. For example, if you want to exclude issues related to tests, you might use a query like:

 

JQL:

project = "Your Project" AND issuetype not in ("Test", "Sub-Test")

Click on "Save" after entering your filter query.

 

Apply the Filter to the Board:

 

After saving the filter query, go back to the "General" tab in the board settings.

In the "Filter" section, select the newly created filter from the drop-down list.

Click on "Save" to apply the filter to the board.

Configure Board to Use Filter by Default:

 

In the board menu on the left, click on "Board settings" again.

Navigate to the "General" tab.

In the "Filter" section, check the option "Set as board filter."

Now, every time someone opens the Kanban board, it will use the specified filter by default, and they won't need to manually select the filter each time.
