We have a standard version but senior management wants to see the overall project reports

Vishal Gogari

Is there any free plugin available which provides that view or reports.

Basically currently the management is unaware about what's happening across all the projects, which projects are delivering things and where there is a delay.

What are the active resources and what things are happening across projects. Like how many bugs in totality we have across organization and projects.

Basically a organization level view.

Please suggest any marketplace free plugins which can help us on this case.

Have you looked at creating a Dashboard? I have done this many times for management and it worked well.

Hi @Vishal Gogari,

A free plugin might not be available. But if you decide to look for a payed plugin, please consider our Great Gadgets plugin. It offers many gadgets that allows you to build powerful dashboard in Jira for tracking projects at the individual level, but also at the global (cross-release) level.

Just have a look over this article from our blog:

How to track multi-team or scaled-agile projects (such as SAFe®) in Jira with Great Gadgets app

This is an example of overall release (cross-team) dashboard.

I hope this helps.

Danut.

Hi @Vishal Gogari 👋

I suggest you to try Time in Status for Jira - one of the best monitoring and reporting tool in Jira. Our add-on has a lot of possibilities for Jira reporting. We have 7 types of status time reports such as Time in Status, Assignee Time, Average Time. All the reports you can display as Pie, Bar or Area Charts.

Hi Jack,

I am aware of a dashboard but what i suppose it would be give me a view within the projects but not something for overall projects.

Not sure if I my understanding is correct. Please confirm.

Management wants to see overall high level view of JIRA and micro thing.

Vishal Gogari

*Not micro thing

Gizem Gökçe (OBSS)

Hello @Vishal Gogari ,

I understand that you are not looking for a paid solution right now. However, if you ever need it I can recommend Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira which is built by my team at OBSS. It is available for both Jira Cloud, and Data Center.

Our app has a free 30 day trial and is free for up to 10 users. So please feel free to give it a try and present it to your management team.

Time in Status mainly allows you to see how much time each issue spent on each status or each assignee.

Report Types Assignee Duration per Status.png

You can combine the time for multiple statuses to get metrics like Issue Age, Cycle Time, Lead Time, Resolution Time etc. Report Types DBS.png

For all numeric report types, you can calculate averages and sums of those durations grouped by the issue fields you select. For example total in-progress time per customer or average resolution time per sprint, week, month, issuetype, request type, etc. The ability to group by parts of dates (year, month, week, day, hour) or sprints is particularly useful here since it allows you to compare different time periods or see the trend.

The app calculates its reports using already existing Jira issue histories so when you install the app, you don't need to add anything to your issue workflows and you can get reports on your past issues as well.

Time in Satus reports can be accessed through its own reporting page, dashboard gadgets, and issue view screen tabs. All these options can provide both calculated data tables and charts. And the app has a REST API so you can get the reports from Jira UI or via REST. Also you can export the reports in to various formats easily.

Visit Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira to explore how our JIRA add-on can revolutionize your metrics measurement process. Enjoy a 30-day free trial to experience the full range of features.

If you wish, you can also schedule a live demo. We will provide a comprehensive overview of the application and address any inquiries you may have.

Hope it helps,

Gizem

Hannes Obweger - JXL for Jira

Hi @Vishal Gogari

if I may provide another Marketplace recommendation, I think you'd like the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira. It's free to trial for 30 days, and will be free forever for up to 10 users.

JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a number of advanced features, including support for (configurable) issue hierarchies, issue grouping by any issue field(s), sum-ups, or conditional formatting.

With these, you can build an organisation-level report like e.g. this in just a couple of clicks:

This is really just one example: You can group your issues by any (combination of) issue fields, in any hierarchy, etc. etc.; it all just depends on what information you'd want to get out of it.

Any questions just let me know,

Best,
Hannes
