How can I put Stories and Tasks on the Timeline from one project only

How can I put Stories and Tasks on the Timeline, without being related to Epics? Any configuration? It is possible?

when you say active epic, does it mean that it has to be an in progress or done status?

The Timeline  in Jira Software does require Epics to be active - without them, the Timeline won't function.

There's a few alternative options though:

* If you have Jira Premium, you could use Advanced Roadmaps to create this view
* In Jira Work Management, a Timeline does not have to have Epics
* Look for a gantt or issue structure App on the Marketplace
