Is it possible to share Jira environments with each other:Company A: and Company B: both have Jira and are working nationwide on the same project can we exchange issues via an API or is there another way to achieve this.

Hi Eric, issue syncing between 2 Jira Cloud sites is possible via REST API (custom development) or a paid third-party solution (easier to setup) from the Atlassian Marketplace.

Yes, it is very possible to integrate the systems using an app like Exalate. You have a choice of going with the free version of Exalate (called the Basic mode) to sync over a fixed set of fields, or you can explore the licensed version that offers you superpowers to control the integration at as granular a level as you want.
