Issue Field condition

Question

Hi I have a multi select dropdown country field and I am trying to assign Program Managers based on the country selected.

For this scenario I am trying JIRA automation, below is the use case:

If country field contains US then update PM(US) field
If it contains other country along with US then Update PM(Non-US)

for 1st scenario I am using Countries Contains any of US this works fine

I am not sure which option to choose if there is one or more country along with US and If I need to update PM (Non-US)

Thanks for the screen images.  I recommend trying to post the entire rule in one image, perhaps using a screen capture tool or browser addon for scrolling capture.  That will ensure the rule pieces are shown correctly.

Just to confirm your scenario, do you have 2 or 3 PMs from whom to select:

* if only US selected* use the PM (US)

* else if US and another country selected* use the PM (non-US)

* else (countries other than US selected* ???

If you only have PM (US) and PM (non-US), your rule could use the count of selected countries to help decide.  As the field is multiple-select, the size function can be used for that count in an advanced compare condition.

One challenge is confirming the smart value for your field.  Smart values are name, spacing, and case-sensitive, and do not always match the display name on the Jira page views.  You can confirm the smart value for your field using this how-to article:

Thanks for your reply, Attaching the screenshots as you suggested:

One condition is: if countries field contains US, then Program Manager (US) has to be updated.

Another condition is: If countries field has the value other than US, then Program Manager (Non-US) has to be updated.

Note: countries field may contain both US and Non-US

For a question like this, please post an image of your complete automation rule, images of any relevant actions / conditions / branches, an image of the audit log details showing the rule execution, and explain what is not working as expected.  Those will provide context for the community to offer ideas.  Thanks!

Until we see those...

I believe there are multiple ways to do this, including:

* use a regular expression with advanced compare condition
* count the values in the list, remove US, and count again to compare the results
* if/else conditions
