Set linked issue field from custom field value

Hi,

I would like to set the linked issues field based on the value added (Custom Field) by the customer on a form .

Has anyone do something like this before, any help much appreciated

Yes the field is used on the form storing its input in a Jira custom field

You can achieve this by automation.

Some questions though, is the field used on the for storing its input in a Jira custom field?

If it is you can create an automation rule.

* Trigger is when issue gets created
* use the branch component and choose JQL
* Write on the JQL the statement required
* Inside the branching edit only the linked issue parameter

Example rule, based on value change, but with the same priciple
