Why do subtasks have a Reply to customer tab if customers don't receive notifications from subtasks?

I have a JSM project

My project has sub tasks

Why does the subtask have a tab called Reply to Customer if we can't reply to customer from subtasks.

Its very confusing for users

Can we hide the Reply to customers on subtasks?

Or can we make it so the Reply to customers works?

This sounds like a 'bug' in Jira Service Management. Atlassian has these two tickets opened being considered to be implemented in the future:

[JSDCLOUD-1422] Sub-tasks as an applicable issue type for Request Types - Create and track feature requests for Atlassian products.

[JRACLOUD-77345] Ability to remove the 'Reply to Customer' option for agents on Sub Tasks - Create and track feature requests for Atlassian products.
