Administrator has access denied

Hello,

I'm org admin.  I created a new knowledge base to test the functionality, but the system wouldn't allow me to add new pages and I don't have access.

I therefore created a totally new Jira instance with a new email address.  I am the sole user, and the admin.

Halfway through editing a test article, I was kicked out and told I had no access:

You don’t have access to edit this content

This could be because you don’t have permission to edit this content specifically or because a space admin hasn’t given you permission to edit content in this space.

How is this possible and how is it resolved?  Clearly, it's nonsense.

Hi @Simon Taylor , welcome to the community and thanks for your question.

Ok, first of all, when you talk about an organization, a knowledge base and Jira, we are talking about different things.

If you are an org admin, you typically have permission to administer the different products in organization, like Jira or Confluence (which is where the knowledge base would be).

However, having the admin access, doesn't necessarily mean you also have access to those products as a user.

Please can you check, in your organization, for the product of Confluence, that you have access as a user and an administrator?

From Jira, you would also need product and not just the administrator permission, to do things like connect a Jira Service Management project to a knowledge base in Confluence.
