Why can we not translate the system field name "Assignee"?

For some reason Atlassian has decided to not translate all system field names. One in particular that "bugs" us is the system field "Assignee". If you (Atlassian) will not translate this field name yourselves, then why can we not translate this ourselves?

Be advised that this forum is used primarily by users of Atlassian products. If you want an issue to get direct Atlassian attention you should have you Jira Administrators open a support case with Atlassian or, if it is enabled in your system, use the Give Feedback option that is available in Jira under the Help icon.

 

As a work around you might explore the Behaviors app from Adaptavist. Changing the displayed name of fields in one of the use cases it handles, and it does say that is can operate on the Assignee field.
