Can I change a priority id?

I have four priorities set up, each with strange, non-sequential ids. Critical is id=2, High is id=3, Medium is id=10100 and Low is id=10101.

I am trying to allow a 3rd party API to create tickets (relating to a scheduled penetration test of a website), but they can only create tickets with ids of 1, 2, 3 or 4. Can I change the existing ids of the priorities I already have, or do I have to create new ones? If new ones, how do I assign ids?

You cannot change the ID's nor choose the ID's of your priorities.

 

Could you map the field that is currently trying to go to priority to another field? For example, you could create a custom field called "Integration Priority" and when the issue is created, use automation for Jira to update the actual priority based on the value set on the custom field?
